Review: 2562 – Fever

2562 – Fever

Apparently, Dave Huismans (aka 2562) made this self-released album with only samples – every one – from one disco record.  Consider this for a sec.  Pretty amazing achievement, because the album is pretty fresh and original.  It’s not specifically bass music, because that’s not where the concentration is, at least for me.  It’s not really dubstep, but it has the normal bass and subs you’d want.  Nor is it disco, though it obviously is going to have some cues retained from the original.  I suppose it lands somewhere in between, teetering on the dub/bass side.  I think this is one of the reviews where I like letting the music explain itself.

Grade: A-.  It’s a pretty dope concept and execution.  Thoroughly enjoyed this album.
