Pick of the Day – December 17th: Top 50 Songs of 2010 (41-50)

Here we go – 41-50 of the top 50 songs I loved this year.  Hope you enjoy.

Raheem DeVaughn – “Fragile”….a track that had a lot of resonance…honest…soulful.

Caribou – “Odessa”…..the drum scatters and the bassline – killer.  Fun song, odd video.

Wu Massacre (Meth, Ghost, Rae) + Inspectah Deck and Sun God – “Gunshowers”…..the best track from a pretty good long EP of random tracks.

Erykah Badu – “Gone Baby, Don’t Be Long”……very chill, and again, the bassline.

Nas & Damian Marley – “As We Enter”…..the back and forth is ill….and I like how they step up the urgency with just the short sample into the 1st verse.

The Heart & Brain – “Live Shit”…..Vis Major IS major.  Beast.

Eminem – “Untitled” (from Recovery)…..amazing.

P.U.D.G.E. – “Everything 2 Me”…..best track from a dope album….the sample usage is crazy.

Seu Jorge & Almaz – “Everybody Loves the Sunshine”…..one of the more natural covers of any one I’d heard this year.  You can imagine Brazil in this version.

Breakage  – “Foundation”…..old school jungle feel, but still sounds fresh.  Amen breaks for life!….lol
