King Cannibal – Ninja Tune XX Presents King Cannibal – The Way of the Ninja
This year is winding down nice for me, with yet another great purchase. I’m already a Ninja Tune fan, so I’m probably not a hard sell. (This is also a make up from not reviewing the XX vol. 1+2 box set…which is super dope, but I haven’t listened to in one sitting yet.) Going from Amon Tobin to Coldcut to DJ Vadim to Prefuse 73, and then Roots Manuva….you really couldn’t go wrong. At the same time, in someone else’s hands, it could be a disaster. This is not one of the those cases. He mixes them well – and shows himself to be a force to be reckoned with now and in the future, as an artist and a mixer/DJ. An amazing first rate party record – incredibly fun, and nostalgic in the most pleasing ways. Loved this album – highly recommended.
