Tweak Bird – Tweak Bird
A stoner rock album, if I ever heard one. It’s kind of a young, jazzy Queens of the Stone Age: at times it rocks out, at times it sounds very Miles Davis. The whole thing wouldn’t be out of place as a soundtrack to a 70’s underground road adventure film, about a couple of runaway teen drug runners in the American Southwest. The combinations of sounds involved are actually smooth, and expert. Obviously, looking at the cover art, they don’t take themselves that seriously…and that shows in the music. It’s a genuinely fun album to listen to, if a tad short at about 30 minutes. Straight to the (car) chase – Recommended.
