Pick of the Day – July 8th: Breakage – Foundation

Breakage – Foundation

This has actually been out a while – March or April.  I’m a Breakage fan, but for whatever reason I got caught sleeping on this, and didn’t see it out in stores – failure on my part.  Nothing like making up for lost time though – and this album is definitely a killer.  A mix up of dupstep, grime, and drum ‘n bass – it’s a very upbeat, atmospheric, “feel the glow around you” album.  Nice spots from the likes of Roots Manuva, Burial, Donae’o, Threshold, Erin, David Rodigan, and Newham Generals.  A pretty good album, but not perfect.  However, you can put this on and listen from end to end.  The highs definitely make worth while – the video below of the title track is an excellent example.
