Picks of the Day – June 10th: Male Bonding, Pollination, and Oddisee

Oddisee – Odd Spring (pt.4 of the Odd Season series)

A super dope finale to a cool (FREE) little series.  What I appreciate is the consistent overflowing of material he’s putting out – it’s getting Madlibian…yep, that’s a new word.  Just made it up.  His catalogue growth doesn’t seem to ending anytime soon.

Pollination – Inca Orange

I basically found this looking for Diego Bernal stuff on the Exponential website – and I happened upon this free gem.  In the lane of a Yppah or Outputmessage…worth the free download.

Male Bonding – Nothing Hurts
It’s fast, a bit noisy, a little fuzzy, and loud.  I hear a lot of inflences, like a little bit of Dinosaur Jr…..some Nirvana….straight up noise pop, etc., etc.  At first full listen, I though that the songs are consistently strong, and the same, but different.  What does that mean?  For me cohesion, and “completeness” are major things in deciding about the dopeness of an album.  This album stays to the theme, but doesn’t get repetitive – while being strong overall.  (There have been a lot of good releases this year.)
